Located in the heart of the Highland neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, Baxter is far from a typical multiplex. The Theatre offers first-run, foreign, and independent fare. Baxter Avenue Theatres offers a choice of eight wall-to-wall screen auditoriums with state-of-the-art projection equipment and Dolby Digital surround sound.

For the safety of our patrons, the management asks that all backpacks or large tote bags be stowed in the box office.

Shirts and shoes are required for patrons.

Bolshoi Ballet Live

For the 2018-19 season, Baxter Avenue Theatres Filmworks is proud to present live and recorded performances of the Bolshoi Ballet. The robust new season will feature awe-inspiring reconstructions of historical ballets such as Le Corsaire with its magnificent shipwreck, and a new version of Romeo and Juliet by today’s foremost ballet choreographer Alexei Ratmansky. Complete with timeless classics and audience favorites The Nutcracker and Coppélia, ballet in cinema from the Bolshoi remains peerless.
